My desire to design and create has always been overwhelming. I live and breathe jewellery and a lifetime would not be long enough to make up all the ideas cropping up in my head. In addition to being skilled in beading and wire-wrapping I am also a qualified silversmith and I constantly update and improve my skills.

I have recently been awarded the title of Jewellery Maker of the Year 2009 in Wirework by Beads and Beyond magazine for "the originality of the design and good workmanship". (Michelle Powell, Editor)

Design Process

Although I have sketch books full of drawings because I am always terrified that my inspiration will dry up, I usually have a clear picture in my head and I like the freedom of letting the beads dictate my next move. Sometimes the design will come to life quickly, sometimes it will take several days or even weeks.

Materials

I only use high quality materials as poor materials just like poor cooking ingredients give unsatisfactory results and can be unpleasant to work with. I always give a full description of the materials used in every piece on a tag which is sent with the jewellery piece. I use semi-precious gemstones and freshwater pearls from reputable sources and high quality silver-plated or gold-plated wire on pure copper in all my wirework.

All my earwires are Sterling Silver or gold-plated but every design can be adapted for non-pierced ears in silver/gold plated fittings at no extra cost.

Martic products

My prices reflect the cost of the materials used but also the length of time it has taken me to design, source the materials and make. Remember you are getting a ONE-OFF piece of jewellery which no-one else has and will not be reproduced.

My products are made to last and I give an absolute guarantee that, provided they have not been misused, I will repair, replace or refund promptly any product found to be defective.
